Dr. Gavrilov is an entrepreneurial scientist who co-invented SHARP technology during his postdoctoral appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His primary focus is on R&D for commercial products, and he is committed to driving innovation for future customer solutions and products.
SHARP technology, a groundbreaking innovation in nucleic acid amplification, emerged from the laboratory of Prof. Taekjip Ha at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Gavrilov, the leading postdoctoral fellow on the project engineered and implemented a helicase motor protein for nucleic acid amplification. Followed by the publication in Nature communication, patent application, SHARP Diagnostics was established with the mission to push the boundaries of molecular diagnostic technologies, drive advancements in next-generation point-of-care and home tests, and make molecular diagnostics cost effective and widely available.
