Innovative bioengineered motor proteins enable SHARP

SHARP method is powered by a novel bioengineered PcrA-M6 helicase motor protein to split the DNA duplex at constant low temperature, while the conventional PCR requires a thermocycler to periodically heat the DNA above 95°C.  SHARP performs equally well or better than the conventional PCR in terms of the sensitivity, specificity and speed. SHARP enables next-generation robust and portable point-of-care molecular tests for human disease detection and monitoring, including HIV, HCV, TB, Covid-19, Influenza etc.
